CHICA FOR SALE

.

After alot of wrestling and at the same time sitting on my hands I have decided to put up for sale the bike I thought I'd never put up for sale.

This bike is a perfect example from the chopper revival in LA of the [pre build off & choppertown hype] early 2000's.

Chica built this bike for me in memory of my Mum [a yank] and on completion I rode it straight across the States to Choppers Inc in Florida.

Working on this bike, for Chica, were Johnny Chop, Nelson Kanno and Brandon 'Brawny Built' Holstein....all these guys are top of the pile when it comes to building bikes.

It is UK registered, taxed and MOT'd and ready to ride on demand. It has never lived outside and always connected to an Optimate when parked up.

The geometry on this bike is just right - its light, skinny and nimble just like a chopper should be - after Brawny left Chicas he built the 'Rusty Nail' based on this bikes layout because it rides...check out his site here.

Ralph is the Widow Dog

Yesterday Sarah was walking him in the park.
There was a very fat boy sitting
In the middle of the park eating cake.
The widow dog sauntered up behind him, lifted his leg and pissed on his back.
What was that about?
Obviously the boy had a shit fit but fortunately was is no condition to chase after my missus as she beat a hasty exit.

HOW THE CHIPS FELL

THE BEST CHOPPER, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: WWNWWFreakyRico's Panhead

We left the decision upto the magazine boys, Guy [GKM] & Dean [Dice]... there was no favouritism here, Ricos [Wild Magazine] bike was a clear winner, even though he had no end of strife with the bike, the fact is he got there on two wheels and that makes it a Linkert Attacks bike. Any man who rides in Europe with a swastika sissy bar has balls of steel in my book.

BEST BRITISH, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Gregory Serves' Triumph chop

I cant find a picture of the bike but I can of the man... Pete Stansfield and Conrad Leach, both men with british bikes under their fingernails, chose this with certainty. What I liked was that the Best British went to France. Linkert Attacks doesnt normally do 'Best British' but since this is the UK event we welcomed riders on domestic marques.

BEST SHOVELHEAD, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Karls shovel

Bedars and Shaky had no doubts that this was their choice for the best shovel. Karl has a background in cars [poor fucker] and the Buick rear drum is a clear tell. Well done Karl, looking forward to seeing your next contraption.

BEST PANHEAD, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Chiels red Pan

The choice for this award was down to PanMan Jeff Murphy and The Legendary Johnny 100. We couldn't ask for better judges and Chiel, from the Netherlands, was over the moon with the Trophy. If there was a trophy for most happy guy to get an award he'd have got that too.

BEST FLATHEAD, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Alex Zambuskis twin carb 45

Alex's dad, Paul, is a long time rider and Linkert Attacker. The work that has gone into Alex's bike impressed the judges, Tom, Tosh, Red and Tim and it was an obvious choice and a show of support for the younger generation. He was pipped to the post for Best of Show by the other youngster Milo, if things had been different the awards would have been the other way round. Ride on Alex.

BEST KNUCKLEHEAD, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Paulies' 47

Chosen by Olivier & Huggy this bike typified a Linkert Attacks bike. As you may or may not know there is a certain amount of snobbery attached to Knuckleheads at Linkert Attacks, down to the fact that Fred rides a '47. Obviously Pete Reeves original paint '36 was over and above the criteria and Paulies, ridden down from Gothenburg, Sweden carrying crates of spark plugs was the undisputable winner [since mine was also excluded!].

BEST ORIGINAL, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Indian Tims' 1928 Indian Scout

Paul Bairstow and Gavin Green, assisted by Pete Reeves and Olivier Blainville [gotta use AMCA judges if they are there!] chose Tims bike. This is his second Linkert Attacks Trophy and I only know of one other guy with 2.... as Tim says, 'catch me if you can'.

THE 'MACGYVER', LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Luis Morenos Panhead

Keith and Macgyver chose this panhead as it most closely adhered to the Macgyver creed ... if you looked at the left side case there was a dodgy repair weld running all the way round it - only a damn fool would ride this thing and this MoFo came over from Spain. All praise to him.

THE 'DOOK', LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: WWNWWAndy P & his pan

The Dook, chosen by Lee & Stevie, was given to the man & his bike who would be most welcome back in the Dook. There can only be 1 Dook and this time, the first time, the title goes to Andy P.

THE TURD, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Stevie Stockers 1986 XLCH

Jimmy and I were left to give this award. My approach to the Turd was that it should be the bike you'd least like to have to ride to Linkert, Jimmy's was that you should be ashamed to get the Turd.... he's says thats a misquote and that he say nothing... but I havent shaved my brain off so who knows what he thinks xxxu
We had a problem, there were no Turds...so, as per tradition we picked on the Ironhead, anyway the awards were too good to give to a turd and as you may or may not know, I covet a '68 XLCH more than any other bike [at the moment].

BEST LINKERT ATTACKER, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Olivier Blainville. France

Olivier is a true Linkert Attacker, the first time I met him in 2008 [at Linkert Attacks] he suggested we go for a burn on our knucks and take a little drink somewhere. This year he was the senior man at the show and I am sure you saw his knucklehead cafe set up in the centre of the park where he was enjoying Ricard and salami on the Saturday afternoon.

BEST OF SHOW, LINKERT ATTACKS UK 2011: Milo's 1950 WR - 5/20 votes

Runner up :Alex Zambuskis twin carb 45 - 4/20 votes

Other contenders were:
Francois' Peking Pan
Pete Reeves' '36 Knuckle [too good to win!]
Jim Cuddihys Red Indian [if its Liams then apologies]
Griffs Knuckle
Karls Shovel
Paul O's molecule shovel [thanks Guy]

As I didn't take many photos during the 3 days of mayhem I have relied heavily on photos taken by the very talented Sammy Adams - check out her pictures here. Great pictures, contact her if you would like some prints and I'm sure she does commissions, weddings, barmitvahs whatever..

I also liberated a couple of other pics from Guys, Paulies, Rowans and Bennys blogs... thanks fellas.

A PICTURE TELLS 1000 WORDS

This photo, by our French connection The Freaky Rico, was taken at the 1st Boogie Farmers Party on the last weekend of June 2009 [thanks Milo].
It was at this exact mind bogglingly drunk moment (note I'm redder than Red) that the Chief gave the greenlight for LAUK2011. We'd been drinking Pommeau & silver tequila, well at least I had.
The 2nd BFP was last weekend and I'm sure it was a great event.... run by good people at a great place in Normandie.
Marco... Change the date from Linkert Weekend and let's party together in future. We can't change, Linkert is Linkert and the sun ONLY shines on that weekend on this Island.

Peace and love
